Three different ways
of driving a pendulum:

•A simple undamped pendulum swings forever. It has closed orbits in a 2D phase space •A simple damped pendulum settles to rest. Spirals lead to a point attractor in a 2D phase space •A forced or driven pendulum has a 3D phase space, and can exhibit chaos                                               @
